We've worked over the past three years to develop the Scoil.net ScoilPac so that it would provide the maximum features and functionality for schools at a minimum price. We built the system and components on mostly Open Source components (free to download) so the only costs are liaising, installation / setup and hosting. In response to the severe budgetary restraints of schools, we created step-by-step video tutorials and screencasts to replace / complement the usual face-to-face training. We also removed the cost of entering content, as we knew that schools themselves would rather save money and learn experientially by entering the content themselves.

In summary, the cost of your school website represents unprecedented value for money for schools, and a fraction of the cost that we and others currently charge commerial customers.

Remember we provide personal support during development, and thereafter you can choose to avail of our detailed step-by-step manuals, tutorials and screencasts (free with each ScoilPac) or if/when the need arises, arrange for  training with you / your staff or further customisation.

 

What exactly should I get?

If budget is tight and you (or a staff member) are willing to enter your own content and learn from manuals, tutorials and screencasts, you can get your new school website for €600!

Many schools choose just the base option. Other schools purchase the base website, and then follow up after a few weeks with extra training which they find more relevant after a few weeks of using the system.

Options Explained:

• Base Price: Fully functional ready-to-go website; User accounts set up; School logo & colours integrated; Calendar, Gallery, Class Pages, RSS Feeds, Parents Newsletter, Learning Platform - all ready to go.
• Content Entry Option: If you choose this option, you send copies of all page content (eg About Us, Mission Statement, Contact, images etc.) by email and we enter the content on your behalf into your website.
• Customisation Option: You specify further changes in the look and feel of your website and make further special requests.
• Staff Training Option: Although we provide manuals and tutorials, you can also request additional in-school training. You decide who needs training - the Principal to manage the news / newsletter etc., the ICT enthusiast to develop extra functionality, the class teachers to manage projects through their class web pages etc.
